I spent this past weekend in Grand Island at the Professional Photographers of Nebraska Fall Conference. It was a great weekend of seminars, mentoring, networking and socializing. I sat under the instruction of some great photographers from Nebraska and abroad learning about posing, lighting, photoshop, marketing, etc! My head and notebook are busting out with new information and ideas! It is all a bit overwhelming and as my husband (he’s a firefighter) likes to say, “It is like trying to take a drink from a fire hydrant!” (he is quite poetic don’t you think?).
One thing I thought I would share because I am just too excited not to, is that I actually won something at my first ever photo competition. Now, granted, this was not like the national print competitions, but it was a contest from among my peers and to have my work recognized was an incredible honor!

September 30, 2008Family at Elmwood Park
September 22, 2008We had thundershowers earlier in the day and we were wondering if the session would even happen, but the skies cleared and the sun came out so we went for it! What a sweet family! This little boy and girl really loved each other and it was so sweet to watch them together.
Oh, and I HAVE to find shoes like Leah’s! Sooo cute!

September 20, 2008Sneek Peek at Schramm Park
September 18, 2008I haven’t posted in a while! It hasn’t been because there wasn’t anything to post, rather this is the BUSY season and I have been having too much fun taking photos and proofing them all =)
Here is my latest family =) We met at Schramm Park and I got to follow two gorgeous little boys around as they explored the paths and many cool places! What fun and it was a beautiful evening! You gotta love these indian summers!

A Mt. Michael Man!
September 7, 2008My latest senior is a Mt. Michael class of 2009 man! We ventured out for an early morning walk around Heartland of America Park. We were thankful that the sunny skies went slightly overcast just for our photo session! Made for great lighting and more flexibility. I had a great time with this ‘kid’ and his Mom =)

Amazing!
September 6, 2008I think I must get to photograph the most gorgeous and fun seniors – every single one has been amazing and my latest was no different! It is so much fun for me to take these kids out and just let them shine in their own way – I love seeing their personalities burst forth and how they make their senior session their own. Some of the locations may be the same and even some of the poses are similar, but each one has made them their own.
So enough with the commentary here is my latest girl from Gretna High School and she is AMAZING!

and something a little different…

The ‘E-Girl’ is one years old!!
September 2, 2008I have had the honored privilege of photographing this precious girl since she was 3 months old – what a blessing she and her family are to me! I can’t believe that she is a year old already! She was certainly on the go at our session today! I can see that she will keep her Mommy and Daddy on their toes from now on!
Something incredible to note – the rocking chair in the photograph belonged to her Daddy’s Daddy when he was a baby and it still even has his teeth marks to prove it! Very cool!

PS – Happy Belated Birthday Sweetheart!!!
