Memorial Park
The morning was so beautiful – I love cooler summer mornings, the are so refreshing! Though it did get warm enough once we were into our session – oh well, it certainly didn’t spoil the fun!
These are the children of a friend of mine – I have been waiting for the chance to photograph these sweet kids since before the little one was born! I think this morning was perfect!

Photographer Tip of the Day
Open Shade – The Memorial is great for open shade and also has the advantage of acting as a natural reflector. Open shaded areas are those areas out of direct sun – in the shade, but having enough reflected light back on your subject from either the sky or light colored pavement or walls so you get light in the eyes. The Memorial shaded the the front, south side that morning leaving the sky, pavement and Memorial walls to reflect the light back into those areas in just the right way to get some great exposures! Avoid taking photos in direct sun as you get too many harsh and distracting shadows, find that open shade!
