I have had the amazing blessing of photographing this little girl since she was 3 months old and now she is turning 5!  I can’t believe it =)

A sneak peek of a fun fun FUN maternity session =)  Love this family and LOVE  that they will soon have a new baby girl to cuddle!

There is a song by Karly Jurgensen called ‘Never Too Far’ that talks about no matter the distance between you and your loved ones they are never to far from us.  I think this couple knows this better than anyone.  They have spent too much time miles apart in their 3 years of marriage but their with their obvious love for one another it has never been too far.  Now they are facing a 9 month separation while he is deployed overseas, and I am simply amazed at their strength and peace in their circumstances.  This session was such a joy to do because they were so beautiful together, their love for one another shows in every frame!  Please join me in praying for them these next 9 months and thanking them for their service and sacrifice for our country.

I am a little slow on posting this week – funny how life sometimes takes over and the things you mean to get done right away just… don’t .  Birthday’s, ballgames, haircuts, etc – where did the week go???  This session is from this past Saturday and if they look familiar they should =)  This family is one of my faithful favorites!

I spent the afternoon with a sweet couple expecting their first baby!  I love the joy and excitement they have preparing for their little one to arrive.  This is such an amazing time!

This morning I was invited to photograph a branding.  I’ve never been to one before but since The Pioneer Woman posts photos of them on her blog all the time I kind of knew what to expect and I will have to admit it was pretty fun!  Apparently in Nebraska a morning branding also involves a light breakfast…

I, however, enjoyed my raisin bran before I arrived.

Next, those with horses saddled up and brought the mamas and their babies in from the pasture…

The mamas and babies were separated and the heifers were sent through the chute for a slew of vaccinations…

Then it was time to gather the calves.  They were usually roped, but a few were able to be caught by hand…

They were then vaccinated, castrated (if the unfortunate calf was male), and branded…

I am already looking forward to next year!

I don’t do many profile sessions but when I do it’s always a good reminder to me that I should be doing more. It seems like almost everyone I know has a LinkedIn profile, Facebook account, Twitter feed or personal blog. How we portray ourselves on social media sites matters because people form opinions of us based on what they see.

As a photographer, I can help you portray yourself professionally, with a profile picture that makes you look good while at the same time, avoids presenting you as just another set of head and shoulders. My friend’s photo session below is a great example of this. I wanted to do more than just a head and shoulders shot; I wanted to portray some of the creativity and personality that makes my friend so good at what she does.

Spring is here and it isn’t too late to get a senior photo session in before graduation!  Spent the morning at Elmwood Park and a nearby church with this Millard North Senior!
